DAVID STEFFENS as Kaspar at the Bregenz Festival

After an intensive and productive season, which included two highly acclaimed role debuts on the opera stage as Jochanaan in Strauss' Salome and Gurnemanz in Wagner's Parisfal, David Steffens returns to the Bregenz Festival's lake stage this summer to once again portray Kaspar in Philipp Stölzl's realisation of Weber's Der Freischütz from 2024.

Before that, he can be heard at his Stuttgart home under the baton of Cornelius Meister as Pater Profundus in Mahler's Eighth Symphony, the so-called ‘Symphony of a Thousand’, with which he will also appear with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra under Fabio Luisi at the end of October. In the upcoming 2025/2026 season, David Steffens will appear on the opera stage for the first time as Osmin in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Staatsoper Berlin, as Wotan in Wagner's Das Rheingold and as Veit Pogner in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
